Ingredients | Instructions |

| Step 1 Cook sausage in a pan until browned. Break it up into small pieces as it cooks. Remove from pan and set aside. |
| Step 2 In the same pan, add butter and a small amount of olive oil. Saute onions on medium heat until they begin to soften (about 3-5 minutes). Add garlic, stir and cook 30 seconds. |
| Step 3 In the same pan, add tomato paste. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes. |
| Step 4Â Â Pour in vodka (if using), and simmer on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until most of the liquid is gone and a thicker mixture is left. |
| Step 5Â Â Stir in heavy cream, sausage, and spices. Mix and simmer for 3 minutes. |
| Step 6Â Â Add cooked pasta and grated parmesan cheese. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water. Top with more parmesan cheese. Enjoy! |
